The Coast Geological Society is proud to share scholarship and award opportunities from the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) supporting students and professionals in the geosciences.
Jeanne E. Harris Chrysalis Scholarship
Supports women geoscience graduate students whose education has been interrupted and who are completing their thesis or dissertation. Funds may be used for degree-completion expenses such as defense travel or dependent care.
Geoscience IDEA Scholarship
Encourages participation from women in under-represented communities pursuing geoscience degrees. Awards may reach up to $5,000 annually and often include mentorship opportunities.
Maria Luisa Crawford Field Camp Scholarship
Provides funding for women geoscience students attending field camp. Apply through the NAGT Field Study Scholarship application. Recipients also receive AWG membership.
Brunton Field Project Award
Supports field mapping and data acquisition projects. Recipients receive a Brunton compass and recognition for field-based research excellence.
Winifred Goldring Award
Recognizes outstanding women graduate students in paleontology and related geoscience disciplines.
Student Research Presentation Travel Awards
Helps students present their research at professional meetings by supporting travel and participation costs.
